South Devon & Torbay Hospital Services: What you need to know.

Today’s infographic is a table I’ve created from the information I could find on all the NHS hospitals in South Devon & Torbay CCG. I’ve included who the main providers of the services are.

Unfortunately, there is no listing for Ashburton, Bovey Tracey, Dartmouth, or Paignton Hospitals. I can only assume that plans for their closure negated the necessity of uploading profiles for them. However, a profile for already closed hospital Teignmouth suggests otherwise.

Something else to note is the proportion of hospitals that have private service providers.  There is no information regarding what they provide.

If you want to see for yourself what information is held on each of the hospitals click here.

The following private hospitals also have profiles on nhs.uk website.

  • Mount Stuart Hospital (Torquay)
  • Huntercombe Hospital Watcombe Hall (Torquay)
  • Langdon Hospital (Dawlish)

As always please feed back if I’ve missed anything out. Comments & discussion welcome!

I’d like to give credit to Kitty Jones for the featured image. Her blog Politics and Insights is well researched and informative. The image is from her post: Selling off NHS for profits: Tories’ and Liberal Democrats’ links with private healthcare firms revealed.

  1. I am training to be an Occupational Therapist at Plymouth and live in Torquay – my next placement is at Torbay Hospital and my last was in Totnes. You have no OT services listed in your infogram.

    • I got this information from the official site which says that the services listed are not complete. Is it just Torbay Hospital that has this service in the area or do you know whether any of the other Hospitals in South Devon and Torbay CCG provide this service?

Thank you for commenting MS, I want to be as fully informed as possible but am finding that the information available is incomplete. 😦
